Kids University is the name of our children’s ministry Sunday morning program. At 9:30 am during the first service, children from age 3 to Grade 6 gather upstairs at KU Central for a half-hour open session. Here they will be placed on different teams and participate in contests that include Bible Memory, Trivia, and Bible “Sword Drills.” At 10 am, kids are dismissed to age-appropriate classes where they will be taught the Bible chronologically. We are currently in the second year of a four year cycle. Our goal is to have each child go through a complete survey of the Bible by the time they are in Grade 6, as well as learn the Books of the Bible, the 10 Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, the Fruit of the of Spirit, and the Armour of God.
During our second service, kids attend the worship part of the service with their parents until they are dismissed at around 11:30 am. Kids from age 4 to Grade 6 head upstairs to KU Central for kids church, where they sing songs together, play some games, have a snack, and hear about Jesus through object lessons and stories. Kids ages 4-5 are dismissed to go to their own lesson 15 minutes into the program.
With all of our Sunday morning programs, parents/guardians are to pick up their kids that are in Grade 1 and under. For kids that are older, please arrange a place to meet after the service.
All of our volunteers have gone through a proper volunteer screening which includes a criminal check.
We also have a staffed nursery during Sunday services for kids up to 3 years of age.
During our worship service, kids are given Message Munchers to help them navigate through the service alongside their parents.
Route 456 is our midweek program for kids in Grades 4, 5 and 6. The program takes place on Thursdays at our Westbank Campus. For more information, contact Ben McGillivray (ben*Question about Route 456).
We have adopted the Plan to Protect policies for all of our children's ministry programs.
Emmanuel runs a bus route for Route 456 in Westbank on Thursday evenings.
